April News

April 27, 2015

Dear Friends:

You may have been wondering, “What’s up with the Maine Council of Churches? I have not heard much from them lately.” Well, we have been very busy.

Our Public Policy team has been working hard in Augusta as we represent people of faith in legislative discussions.

We have also been privileged to collaborate and sponsor a number of important educational and worshipful opportunities on immigration, peace, economic development and conservation.

Finally, we have been diligently working on developing better ways to communicate with YOU! We have updated our database, created new email templates, and are about to launch a brand new website.

We are committed to being the best resource for all the faith communities we represent. Look for regular emails from us letting you know what we are up to and sharing information about important events and activities happening around the state. Be sure to visit our web page to check out what is new, and please be in touch if we can help you in any way!

Especially, we hope you will join us for an ecumenical worship gathering — “Moving Toward Peace: Learning to Love Those We Do Not Like” — coming up on Sunday, May 3 at 3 pm at Allen Avenue Unitarian Universalist Church. All the details are below.

Happy Spring (when it finally arrives!).

Blessings,

Rev. Sue Gabrielson
Executive Director, Maine Council of Churches
