MAINE’S FAITH LEADERS CAN TAKE ACTION NOW

The moral authority this moment in history is demanding of us has always lived in faith communities. And it is needed NOW, when voting rights are under attack and, in some cases, have already been stripped away.

Throughout our country’s history, faith communities have provided leadership at decisive moments in the struggle for democracy. We are at another decisive, pivotal moment in the history of our democracy. And the Maine Council of Churches, along with our trusted partner, Multifaith Justice Maine, is calling on faith leaders across our great state to once again

 step forward
      speak truth to power
         demonstrate courage
and (literally!) sign on the dotted line.

We are joining with the national organization, Faith in US, to encourage Maine’s faith leaders to SIGN A LETTER expressing their commitment to protecting voting rights, to opposing attacks on the freedom to vote, and to holding elected leaders accountable for doing the same.

This is just one step of many. Stay tuned for more information about future actions to take in helping to ensure voting rights are protected, elections remain free and fair, and election results are securely tabulated, accurately reported, and duly enacted.

Click on the link below no later than July 4 and add your name to the list of faith leaders from across the United States who have already signed on:
