FCC UCC is an active, progressive church community. We routinely open our doors to collaborate with the wider community. We seek to extend an expansive welcome and cultivate faith that is rooted in justice and love.
Purpose of this position: To facilitate and expand connections among FCCUCC members and friends, our tenants, residents of South Portland and the region through effective online, print and in-person communications. This person will be responsible for telling our story, conveying our commitments, promoting events and sharing information with the FCCUCC community.
A Typical Day as Community Engagement Manager Includes:
- Designing content to promote church events, initiatives and news, using print and online marketing/communications tools
- Using social media to tell our story and engage our community, creating and sharing posts and reels
- Producing short, shareable videos, repurposing existing content from worship and other events
- Maintaining the church database to ensure effective communication
- When in the office, answering phones, welcoming people to the building, helping folks to connect with staff and volunteers and providing some office support

We are looking for candidates who:
- Communicate effectively across platforms and tell impactful stories
- Have event and organizational marketing experience with Facebook, Instagram and MailChimp.
- Have experience with Word, Publisher, Canva and/or similar programs to create and produce flyers, reports and other promotional materials
- Have basic video editing experience and YouTube content management skills
- Have basic experience with WordPress and HTML
- Have strong organizational skills and demonstrated success working independently and in collaboration with others.

We offer:
- $25/hour for 12 hours/week, 50 weeks/year ($15,000 annually)
