THE ELEANOR HUMES HANEY FUND GETS A NEW NAME

The Eleanor Humes Haney Fund, a generous supporter of MCC over the years, has been renamed the Haney-Leighton Fund in honor of Deborah Boies Leighton, a tireless advocate for the Fund and for radical social change.  Debbie, Elly’s life partner, died August 14, 2021, at the age of 97.
Founded in 2000 by a bequest from Elly’s estate, the Fund supports faith-based and other forms of social action to increase social, economic, cultural, and ecological justice.  Over the years it has awarded more than $560,000 to 190 Maine-based grantees.
