Love Thy Neighbor: Feed the Hungry

The program is a “Study Circles” modeled program. It comes with detailed instructions, videos, and suggested research and press articles and suggestions for prayer. Forms for facilitators are also available.

There are three of options for delivery of the program:

Option one (preferred): Full Digital Delivery

The advantage of this option is that the materials are available to you to use at your convenience with no worry about a due date to return them. Since printed/physical materials are limited in quantity, digital delivery allows more congregations to use the program simultaneously.

For Digital Delivery, go to the following Google Drive shared link

In the Google Drive folder, you will find subfolders that are pretty self-explanatory. The general folder includes instructions for the whole program. You will also find the videos in their own folder. The videos are available in .mov format (QuickTime) and in .wma format (Windows Media Player and other PC players).

All of the printed materials are available in PDF format for ease of use. You may print them or project them. (Note: You may NOT reproduce any of the articles for use or distribution beyond the scope of this particular study circles program, due to copyright restrictions.)

With digital delivery, you can “poke around” in the program and become familiar with it. If your church facility does not have high-speed Internet access, you could consider downloading the program to a laptop computer at another web-enabled site for use at the church.

If you do not wish to download the videos, and if you have video projection capabilities and high speed at your church, you may also view the videos at the following YouTube playlist link.

Option two (our second favorite method):

Digital Delivery of written materials, and mail delivery of a DVD

The advantage of this method is that you can play the DVD in just about any computer or DVD player without needing to download it. Anyone with a computer and Internet access can go to the Google Drive share link and download the written materials only.

(Note: You may NOT reproduce any of the articles for use or distribution beyond the scope of this particular study circles program, due to copyright restrictions.)

To use Option two, email wbarter@mainecouncilofchurches.org with a request for the DVD only. Use the above link to download all of the other materials. The DVD will be yours to keep. Send a valid USPS mailing address; the name of the responsible party; and a good phone number to call in case there is a problem.

Option three: US Mail Binder Delivery for Loan

The advantage of this method is that you need not download any materials. All of the reproducible handouts and a DVD are in the binder. The disadvantage is that with limited resources and multiple requests, the binders can only be loaned for a maximum of eight weeks.

(Note: You may NOT reproduce any of the articles for use or distribution beyond the scope of this particular study circles program, due to copyright restrictions.)

For physical delivery, please email wbarter@mainecouncilofchurches.org with a valid US postal service mailing address; the name of the responsible party; your phone number; and the exact dates when you will need the materials. These deliveries are on a first come-first served basis. Please allow 8-10 days for delivery once the request is made.

We are grateful to our sponsors for this program: Catholic Charities Maine; The Episcopal Diocese of Maine; and Hannaford Supermarkets.
