Anne D. ("Andy") Burt - Environmental Consultant

Andy has worked for eight years with the Maine Council of Churches on our environmental justice programs, including the Climate Change Initiative, creating Earth Care Teams in congregations in Maine, representing the Council in the Environmental Priorities Coalition, leading our environmental health and toxics initiative in 2008 and many other projects.  Most recently, Andy led and organized a three year project with MOFGA under MCC's Food and Faith Program, called "Be a Good Apple" which worked to connect local congregations with Community-Supported Agriculture and Fisheries.  Currently, she serves as a consultant on all MCC environmental projects and represents MCC as a member of the Partnerships for Cool Communities. Andy is known throughout Maine and beyond as a passionate and compassionate advocate for eco-justice.

Dolores Vail - Economic Justice Consultant

 

Dolores Vail coordinates the economic justice work of the Maine Council of Churches, with a particular emphasis on poverty and homeless  issues. A resident of Falmouth, she served on the Falmouth Town Council from 1998 to 2002 and as chair for one year. For seven years she was the Coordinator of Volunteers for Community Health Services, where her role included public relations/communications functions relating to volunteer programs and events. She served as past president of the Maine and Portland Area League of Women Voters, was on the board of the People’s Regional Opportunity Program and chair of the development commitee, on the board for York Cumberland Housingand served as chair of the finance committee.  In her position with the Council, Dolores is working to educate the public about economic justice issues through vehicles such as a drma about homlessness and poverty, public speaking and networking, through paricipating in conferences and through her presence at local and Maine legislative meetings.
