Environmental Resources

The following links include important information on why people of faith shold care about the environment and what you and your congregation can do to become stewards of God's creation.

  • Greening Congregation Handbook

The 225-page Handbook provides ideas to help foster creation awareness and care in congregations. It addresses the question as to why people of faith should care for creation, and helps congregations develop an enduring, creation-honoring focus within all dimensions of congregational life.  The Maine Council of Church has limited copies, or you may order by clicking on the link above to Earth Ministry.

  • Presbyterians for Restoring Creation

Presbyterians for Restoring Creation (PRC) is a nationwide network of people of faith who care for God's creation. Through our web site, a quarterly newsletter, resources, and regional and national events, PRC educates and advocates and builds community for eco-justice.

NCC's Eco-justice program includes all ministries designed to heal and defend creation, working to assure justice for all of creation and the human beings who live in it.  NCC provides numerous resources for congregations interested in learning more about and participating in environmental programs.
