Voices of Faith and the Faithful in Maine

Please join us for a special reception and lecture series to honor the social justice ministry of Bishop Stephen T. Lane on the occasion of his retirement from the Episcopal Diocese of Maine. Hear from leading voices how current politics are changing religious attitudes and how religious behaviors are changing politics.

Bishop Lane has been a leading voice of faith on many issues during his time in Maine. We are bringing other leaders to talk about some of those policy areas including Senator Angus King (invited), Ms. Heidi Shott, Rev. Dr. Marvin Ellison, Rev. Suzanne Roberts, MD, Rt. Rev. Thomas Ely – Bishop of Vermont, Rev. Jane Field, Mr. Ben Chin and Dr. Reza Jalali.

After the issue talks we will shift to a panel discussion with Rt. Rev. Robert Deeley, Rabbi Erica Asch, Rev. Deborah Blood and Bishop Lane.

Special thanks to our friends at the Maine Council of Churches for co-sponsoring this event.

It will be a special evening of looking back at the impact of people of faith and faith-based advocacy and an important discussion about the state of faith in Maine in 2019.
