Canceled – Lift Every Voice: Interfaith Advocacy Days in Augusta

Lift Every Voice: Interfaith Advocacy Days in Augusta
Monday, March 19, South Parish Congregational Church
Tuesday, March 20, Maine State Capitol
We are sorry to share the news that Interfaith Advocacy Days (March 19-20) has been cancelled. But we are heartened and inspired that there is so much advocacy and activism happening right now in Maine.
The time is right for people of faith to speak up and speak out. As we seek to shepherd our limited resources wisely, we are currently in dialogue with our policy partners about the possibility of a faith-based advocacy effort in early April as the state Appropriations Committee considers the supplemental budget, funding of opioid bills and funding Medicaid expansion. Stay tuned for details!
In the meantime, we want to encourage you to support with your prayers and presence the following upcoming events:
• Monday, April 2, 8am – Moms Demand Action Gun Violence Prevention and Advocacy Day in Augusta
• Wednesday, April 4 – Maine Conservation Voters Lobby Day and Clean Water Rally in Augusta
• Poor People’s Campaign in Maine – A Coordinating Committee has been formed and five delegates are travelling to Nashville next week for a national training. Details about events in Maine will follow shortly.
Thank you so much for your interest in attending Interfaith Advocacy Days. We value your faithful witness to the importance of building a culture of compassion, justice and peace.
