MCC Seeks New Office Administrator

 

The Maine Council of Churches represents nine denominations that work together, in conjunction with other partners, to advocate at the state and national level for the eradication of poverty, for civil discourse in politics, and for environmental protection.  Begun in 1938 and rooted in Hebrew and Christian scriptures, our mission is to inspire congregations and persons of faith to unite in good works that build a culture of justice, compassion and peace.

JOB SUMMARY: The Office Administrator works with the Executive Director and the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors to coordinate communications, including email accounts and server, website, Facebook, semi-annual newsletter, monthly e-news, and donor mailings, and has primary responsibility for maintaining and updating the Council’s donor database and using it to produce acknowledgement letters, mailing lists and other reports.

Education: Associate’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience: Minimum of 3 years in office administration with demonstrated experience in computer and online applications as listed below

Skills Required:
Proficient in:

  • Microsoft Office
  • Donor database software (preferably Little Green Light)
  • WordPress and website oversight
  • Facebook
  • MailChimp and Gmail
  • Newsletter design (MS Publisher or equivalent)

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently with attention to detail
Consistent and conscientious commitment to meeting deadlines on time
Must have access to internet and own a reliable, up-to-date computer capable of running programs listed above
Must have the ability to work off-site
This part-time hourly position averages 6 to 8 hours per week. Pay is commensurate with experience.
